Alabama Symphony Orchestra performs Holy Rollers at the University of Alabama – Birmingham, AL

Conductor Sarah Hicks will be leading the ASO in a concert featuring “Holy Rollers” by Missy Mazzoli, as well as works by Mozart and Brahms. Mazzoli describes “Holy Rollers” as “devotional music for a non-existent religion.” It draws inspiration from 16th century Psalm settings by Thomas Tallis and 19th and 20th century architecture. Charlie Albright solos in Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 21 in C major, and Brahms’ Symphony No. 4 concludes the program.
