Charlotte Edmonds and Robert Binet are both young choreographers who have benefitted from the mentorship of Wayne McGregor, provided through The Royal Ballet. As The Royal Ballet celebrates ten years of McGregor’s position as the Company’s Resident Choreographer with an all-McGregor programme on the main stage, it also highlights his role nurturing the next generation of choreographers through this programme of new work.
In 2015 Charlotte Edmonds became the first participant of The Royal Ballet Young Choreographer Programme. In addition to her work with The Royal Ballet, she has choreographed for companies including Yorke Dance Project, London Children’s Ballet and Dutch National Ballet Junior Company, and for the Genée International Ballet Competition. Robert Binet was a Choreographic Apprentice for The Royal Ballet 2011–13, and is now Choreographic Associate of the National Ballet of Canada. He has choreographed for such companies as New York City Ballet and Company Wayne McGregor.
