“Lyrika Classic” in collaboration with the publishing house “Shostakovich and Stravinsky” and the contemporary music project “Music of Our Time” presents the I International Festival of Contemporary Opera by Women Composers “Muffled Voices”, dedicated to the memory and 80th anniversary of composer Tatyana Chudova.
As part of the festival, Russian audiences will have the opportunity to meet seven talented composers and witness ten opera premieres in different cities of Russia, performed by leading soloists of the world music scene, staged by director Elizaveta Korneeva, known for her work at the Krasnoyarsk Theater. Hvorostovsky, Mariinsky Theater, Hannover Theater in Germany and Helikon Opera.
On Tuesday, May 28 at 19:00 on the stage of the White Column Hall of Princess Shakhovskaya of the Helikon-Opera Theater the Russian premiere of the acclaimed opera “Proving Up” by the American composer Missy Mazzoli with a libretto by Royce Vavrek and the world premiere of the opera “Zhdana” by Alina Nebykova based on the story of the same name by Alexey will take place Nebykov performed by soloists of Helikon-Oepra, Carnegie Hall and the Bolshoi Theater.
