Miro Magloire’s New Chamber Ballet will continue its 2018-19 season with two world premieres: New Ballet I by guest choreographer Gabrielle Lamb to music by Missy Mazzoli, and New Ballet II by Magloire, to music by Schubert (titles later!). Guest choreographer GABRIELLE LAMB has created an as yet untitled trio to music by major contemporary composer Missy Mazzoli, whose new opera Proving Up was performed at the Miller Theater last month. The two selections by Mazzoli both reference the past: her violin solo Dissolve, O My Heart references Bach’s legendary Chaconne, while the piano solo Map of Laughter is influenced by Schubert’s Moment Musical No. 4. The new work was underwritten by Stuart Coleman and Meryl Rosofsky, and Claire and Christopher Mann.
